OL DOINYO LENGAI

OlDoinyo Lengai – or the Mountain of God as it is called by the Maasai – is a sacred site for the famous tribe. It’s an active volcano that attracts climbers, geologists, and photographers alike. The ascent is technically easy but very strenuous, as it is pathless with an upper part that consists of 45° steep lava channels on the western flank of the volcano. The 2.878-meter-high summit rises above the Rift Valley and offers views of the famous Lake Natron in the north and Mount Kilimanjaro to the east.
